Where's the "Dislike" button? This post makes me a sad panda.
On the reals, though; having suffered burnout several times over the 25+ years I've put into this hobby, I cannot imagine the stress of actually running a fed. You and I had our ups and downs, Spence, but you've landed squarely in the small circle of folk I consider worthwhile humans(squared circle, heh), which means I want you to take care of yourself. If stepping back from the overwhelming task of running this circus by yourself is what you gotta do, I certainly ain't gonna hold it against ya.
Besides, to be perfectly honest, I'm way too wordy to work under this 2k cap effectively, lol; I honestly don't know how to tell a story concisely. Of course, your job would have been waaaay harder if I were dropping my usual 7k, especially if these other radically talented writers were doing the same.
See, look, I can't even write a short "Aw, this sucks, but take care of yourself first" post without rambling.
Regardless, don't think for a moment anyone is gonna be down on you for prioritizing your mental health over a bunch of fictional characters; almost all of us have been there at some point. Shit, I've killed off my main character 3 separate times; not "retired", straight up killed. We may be saddened by the NPWA closing, but I'm sure we'd all be much sadder if you broke your brain trying to do this all by yourself.
In closing, I think I speak for all of us when I say: We love you, Jordan; take care of yourself.
